Melanie Doyle (co-founder) mdoyle3@san.rr.com

Melanie Doyle is a parent of twin boys who keep her very active. Her son Crosby has a severe-to-profound hearing loss, wears both a cochlear implant and hearing aid, and is fully mainstreamed in the public schools.

Melanie meets regularly with parents who have deaf and hard-of-hearing children to help them prepare for IEPs and get needed services for their children. She serves on the Parent Advisory Council for the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and developed the mediation model used in their Parent Advocacy Training Program . Along with Linda, Melanie co-authored the guide Mainstreaming the Student who is Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing. She also serves on the advisory board of CCHAT -- San Diego.

Linda Dye (co-founder) lindamdye@cox.net

Linda Dye has been a Pediatric Audiologist for over 21 years. She started her career at the House Ear Institute (HEI) in Los Angeles where she and her husband Drew volunteered many years for the HEI Family Camp. In 1999, when she became Director of the CCHAT Center – San Diego it was a natural transition for her to help Melanie develop the San Diego Area Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Family Camp.

She brings to Family Camp years of camp counselor experience, enthusiasm for working with families, and her own able-bodied family. Her immediate family, as well as her nephews, have volunteered every year of DHH Family Camp and they look forward to continuing with camp for many years to come!

Daniel Froman ddfroman@juno.com
Daniel is 21 and has been wearing hearing aids since he was 4. He grew up mainstreamed in the public schools and became involved with Family Camp in his sophomore year of high school. Daniel joined the volunteer staff the second year of camp and has been a dedicated volunteer ever since! During the past two years he’s taken on increased responsibilities as the volunteer coordinator and joined the planning committee in 2005. His perspective as an oral deaf/hard-of-hearing adult and fresh ideas are greatly appreciated.
