Melanie meets regularly with parents who have deaf and hard-of-hearing children to help them prepare for IEPs and get needed services for their children.  She serves on the Parent Section Advisory Council for the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and developed the mediation model used in their Parent Advocacy Training Program .  Along with Linda, Melanie co-authored the guide Mainstreaming the Student who is Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing.

Linda Dye (co-founder) lindamdye@cox.net

Linda Dye has been a Pediatric Audiologist for over 21 years.  She started her career at the House Ear Institute (HEI) in Los Angeles where she and her husband Drew volunteered many years for the HEI Family Camp.  In 1999, when she became Director of the CCHAT Center – San Diego it was a natural transition for her to help Melanie develop the San Diego Area Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Family Camp.  She is currently an audiologist with San Diego Unified School District.

She brings to Family Camp years of camp counselor experience, enthusiasm for working with families, and her own able-bodied family.  Her immediate family, as well as her nephews, have volunteered every year of DHH Family Camp and they look forward to continuing with camp for many years to come!
