For the past six years The San Diego Area Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Family Camp has been making a difference in the lives of children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing and their families. We are seeking support from individuals and organizations to assist families who will be attending the 9th Annual Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Family Camp over Memorial Day weekend.

At camp, parents have an opportunity to come together and discuss issues related to raising children with hearing loss. They attend seminars presented by a variety professionals in the fields of education, assistive listening technology, child development and advocacy. While parents attend educational sessions, children participate in exciting activities such as archery, arts and crafts, nature hikes and sports.

This significant event has become an anchor for many families who have come to value the opportunities to share information, learn from each others’ experiences and create lasting friendships. We had over 100 families and volunteers participate in camp last year.

We are committed to ensuring that all families, regardless of their financial means, have an opportunity to attend D/HH Family Camp. Even though camp costs have increased every year, it remains our goal to charge a fee that is affordable for families to attend.

This year, camp fees will be $110/adult and $100/child. For a family of four this will come to $420 for the weekend . . . a cost that is beyond the means of some of our families.

Please consider sponsoring a family at the full or partial rate. Your donation is tax deductible.
